As a limited scope service provider, Melanie specializes in bringing affordable legal services to your corner. Melanie brings with her over 20 years Corporate and Banking etc. legal experience and is authorized by the Law Society of Saskatchewan to provide directly to clients the following services:

1. Basic corporate legal services:  Incorporations, annual maintenance; indoor management rule for corporations; acting as registered and records office for corporations (including acting as attorney for service for extra-provincial corporations); amendments to corporations involving name changes; business name registrations (sole proprietorships); restorals and restorations; minute book reviews and extra provincial registrations;

2.  Basic title transfers, includes consolidations and subdivisions without trust undertakings, and surviving joint tenant transfers;

3.  Basic wills, codicils, power of attorney (including revocations thereof) and health care directives; 

4.  Basic Contracts and negotiating the same; and

5.  Acting as agent conducting Saskatchewan due diligence searches for clients.

Under lawyer supervision OR AFTER a client receives professional tax advice, Melanie may also provide services directly to clients involving reorganizations, dividend resolutions, share redemptions and dissolutions etc.

Melanie is also an authorized Notary Public for  the Province of Saskatchewan who can notarize documents for use inside and outside of the Province of Saskatchewan.  As a Notary Public, Melanie is also authorized to witness the consent of a non-owning spouse under The Homesteads Act, 1989 or to witness a Certificate of Acknowledgement by a guarantor signing a guarantee and postponement of claim which lenders (banks) authorize either a Notary Public or a Solicitor to provide. 

Finally, Melanie also contracts with Law Firms and under lawyer supervision for areas outside of her current approved scope of service.

Melanie will work with you every step of the way and refer clients to lawyers for areas outside her current scope of approved practice.  Melanie will also work with those lawyers/law firms in order to make sure that you understand the choices you are making and feel empowered to make them.

Melanie has been working in national, international and small to medium size law firms for over 20 years and has a proven track record of success.  She has worked as a corporate services supervisor and head paralegal on large transactions and for large firms as well as for smaller firms focusing on financing transactions, purchase and sale of large to small businesses, farming corporations, real estate transactions associated therewith and wills and estates. She enjoys assisting not-for-profit organizations and corporations to empower the community.  She can use that experience to help you down a path to the results you need at affordable rates.
